Makita Routers
Originally used by staircase makers, a router is a tool to hollow out an area in wood. The first manual routers were called “Old Woman’s Tooth”- and were little more than a chisel set into a block at an angle. Modern, or spindle routers have been around for about fifty years. The first plunge router was invented by Elu (DeWalt eventually purchased them). Routers are used for a variety of jobs, for example recessing holes in doors, and most notably molding. Perfect for fine detail, routers allow you to put a professional finish on any woodworking project.
